Employee is responsible for performing Ports Police and ARFF tasks and procedures at Rota Ports including compliance with applicable local, federal, and FAA regulations.
Examples of Duties
-Enforces CPA policies, regulations and performs procedures applicable to Ports Police and ARFF Departments including compliance with FAR Parts 139 and 107.
-Responds to crisis, urgent or emergency situations, e.g. terroristic threats, aircraft rescue and fire fighting incidents, typhoons, heavy storm, earthquakes, in accordance with approved CPA emergency response plans and FAA procedures.
-Attends Ports Police and ARFF related training programs.
-Inspects port facilities perimeter and other airport ground areas and performs procedures to safeguard or protect port properties and facilities.
-Performs other routine Ports Police and ARFF tasks on a daily basis.
-Enforces applicable CPA rules and regulations and performs proper procedures on violations, if any.
-Controls vehicle movements, passenger movements in common areas and ensures safe and orderly flow of traffic.
-Inspects ARFF and Police machines, equipment and tools on a regular basis and reports to the supervisor regarding malfunctions, breakdowns, need of repairs, etc.
-Applies proper Ports Police and ARFF techniques and procedures to effectively carry out the functions of the Ports Police and ARFF operations.
-Drives and operates fire fighting vehicles of significant complexity, i.e. pumpers, aerial ladder trucks, crash rescue trucks.
-Drives vehicle to scene of crash and/or fire following predetermined route, or selecting alternate route when necessary. Positions vehicle considering factors such as wind direction, hazards, location of aircraft, etc.
-Performs strenuous physical activities such as lifting heavy fire fighting equipment, climbing standard and aerial ladders, and lifting and carrying people and equipment for rescue and salvage.
-Controls and extinguishes fires, operates apparatus, makes forced entries, ventilates structures, performs or assists in rescue operations including administration of first-aid to injured victims, and performs salvage and overhaul.
-Develops advance skills in first-aid and cardio-pulmonary resuscitation.
-Enters crashed and/or burning aircraft to free or rescue personnel.
-Utilizes tools and communication equipment effectively.
-Applies performance standards and written instructions or procedures for both routine and non-routine work.
-Complies with safety requirements including safety measures governing revolvers, equipment and other weapons, OSHA regulations, local ordinance, federal and FAR Parts 139 and 107.
-Participates in discussion with Ports Police, ARFF personnel and advisory personnel.
-Performs other related duties as assigned.
